My Akashic Records Journey

"How did you get started doing this?!?" Is a question I am frequently asked by my clients, students and the occasional fellow dinner party guest. 😊 Here's how I found the Akashic Records-- or rather, they found me.

Hello lovely. This is Dawn Marian, and I wanted to make a little video about how I got started in the Akashic Records. It's a question I often get asked when I tell people what I do and when students and clients experience the magic firsthand of the Akashic Records. How did you get started with this? And the truth is, I was born into a mainstream cult, Jehovah's Witnesses, and when I was 19, I went through a complete shunning. I lost everyone, everything that I had known, and I was given the amazing gift of learning who I really was without the constraints of this group. I spent the next 11 years processing the first layers of shock and grief around that. And in that time period, I went to Italy. I lived in Italy for a few years, and that really ignited this desire in me to see the world and to grow through the experience of travel.

In fact, I am making this video from the island of Roatan in Honduras, and it really was a desire in me to find myself. I realize that now. And so my travels led me to India, and I had a really big spiritual awakening in that country. I know that's very cliche, but there's a reason for it. There's a very potent spiritual energy in India. It's everywhere. And I came home, back to Minneapolis with this huge need to heal myself and to explore being a healer and all things related to this new world I had just been opened up to. In fact, if you've been to India, you know the bookstores, you can buy books for a dollar. And I sent home a whole box of metaphysical books, and I just dove headfirst into them, reading about auras and crystals and mudras and yoga and Gandhi. 

I started looking for things in my community that could also support me. So in a local metaphysical magazine, I saw a picture of this beautiful woman and she reminded me of my mom. So it caught my attention and it just said the Akashic Records with Dahna Fox and I had this wave of energy move through my entire body, and I'd never felt that before because being in a cult, I had a lot of sensitivities that were shut off. But this really got my attention. It was like a lightning bolt went through my body. So I read the article, and it said the Akashic Records are the recordings of your soul from the moment you individuated from source and to this present moment and includes future potentials. I remember thinking, I have no freaking clue what that means, but I know I need to go.

The article was an invitation to a free lecture that Dahna was giving at the Edge Expo--a big metaphysical expo that was put on annually.  And miraculously-- I was working as a waitress at the time-- I could go. I went and I sat down and I listened, and she asked if anyone had a question. I stood up. I raised my hand. And I'm not a person that ever really gets called on. It's an interesting dynamic. But she picked me out of all of these people. 

Of course I said, “What's my purpose?”

And she said, “Are you serious?  You're a healer.”  

And I said “Yeah.” (You know how it is when you are just starting out and don’t believe it yourself yet.)

She said more things about my life purpose, things that are still coming true, that I reflect on even now, 20 years later. The conversation unfolded and she had another offering. This time it was a $20 class. 

Miraculously, once again, if you've been in food service, you get it-- the schedule is wild-- I happened to be off, so I could go to this class. And as I sat down I heard a voice say, “You're going to teach this someday.” 

I thought, What? Where did that come from?!? Channeling was not in my frame of reference at that point. But I was just mesmerized by what Dahna was saying about the soul and the Akashic Records. And then she was going to be in town for a workshop.  She actually came from Ohio, and Dahna was a member of ARCI-- as an aside-- Akashic Records Consultants International. ARCI was the first group that brought Akashic Records to the US back in the early eighties. And she was coming in a few weeks to do a two day seminar to learn how to open your Akashic Records. I really wanted to go. I had never ever done a workshop before. And then I bulked. I bulked at the price because I never spent money on myself like that, and I didn’t think I had that money to spend.

And she said “Can you make payments?” 

"Well, yeah, of course I can."

And so this beautiful soul who I just met, who lived in another state, agreed to take $50 payments until the class was paid off. I think it was $350 or something. And this was 19 or 20 years ago. And so the rest is history. I learned how to open my Akashic Records and it was very much this feeling of being drawn towards something. And then coming home.

This is the point. If you're considering learning to work with your Akashic Records and bringing it into your tool set, there's this pulse that draws you towards it. In fact, the word akasha is embedded with an energy to actually ignite something inside of us when we have a soul connection with the Akashic Records. Now, it's true all souls have a connection with the Akashic Records, but some souls have a much deeper purpose and experience with the Akashic Records through lifetimes.

There's this energy of what is that? I need to know more. And it very much does feel like the doors keep opening. I'm thinking about when you're at an airport or a hotel where you walk up to automatic doors and they just open and then you're in another section and when you come to the next set of doors, they open. That is very much what coming into the Akashic Records was like for me. And I've seen that with other students too, where it's like I don't know what this is, but I know I need to be here. And the childcare arrives, the money arrives, the schedule opens, and truly it's a very guided, very supported process. 

So what happened next is I learned to open my Akashic Records, and I had a lot of work to do. I had a lot of belief systems and shame and pain bodies to release-- lots of betrayal, stuff that was coming out of my cult experience. I worked on myself for about six years. And in between that, I did learn how to read Akashic Records for other people. And I did that as a little part-time thing. Not a ton of readings, but just sharing it with friends and the occasional client. I was a new mom at the time too. 

And then one day I woke up and I knew I'm ready to teach this. 

So I told my mentor Dahna and she said “But you're not even a Certified Consultant yet. That’s the first step!” 

And I thought, oh, shoot, I have to do that! I had no idea. So I started doing the additional training and the practice readings that were required to fulfill the requirements. And in that process I met the lovely Lisa Barnett. So Lisa Barnett, if you're familiar with Akashic Records, has written a couple books now. 

I am so delighted that she was one of my mentors in the Akashic Records. And we began working together and I became a Certified Consultant, and then Lisa was guided to start her own school called Akashic School of Knowing. 

I told Lisa “I will come with you and to be your first teacher.” (ARCI didn't have any upcoming teacher trainings planned for the following year and I knew I needed to get started right away.) 

She agreed. I had the gift of watching her create from the ground up the beautiful Akashic Knowing School of Wisdom that has helped thousands of people learn how to access their Akashic records all over the world. I'm so thrilled for the work that Lisa has put out in the world. And I happily taught as an Akashic Knowing teacher for probably about seven years. 

Then one day I was guided to start my own Akashic Records school from the Akashic Beings of Light. And the truth is, I was a little resistant to that in the beginning, actually A LOT resistant to that. It took months for me to finally say, okay, I'll do it. And Spirit has a funny way of getting our attention. And probably the biggest thing with all that is that I loved Lisa. I still love Lisa, and it's that classic teacher student thing, right, where the student grows to a place where they're ready to go out on their own, and we get bonded to our teachers and our mentors. And so I didn't want to disappoint her, but I had to follow the guidance. And so I did, and I remain connected with her and bless the work that she's putting out in the world. 

I received a sacred prayer, a Radiant Heart prayer to open up the Akashic Records. There's lots of different prayers to open the records. They all have different kinds of flavors. And this prayer was really an answer to a call in my heart for those people who are waking up to their own sovereignty and are also very grounded in their humanity, wanting to embody their divine energy. And so this beautiful Radiant Heart Accesss prayer was gifted, and I went to work creating, channeling with the Record Keepers, the different levels of study that go from the beginning, how to do it, to how to use this as an amazing tool to heal ancestral patterns, past lives, get into your soul purpose, into your relationships, and so forth. The Akashic Records continue to guide me forward in everything I do, and it is my favorite tool. In fact, they really helped me put myself, I would say, back together. But the truth is, when I came out of the cult and when I first found the Records, I wasn't even really on the map, if you know what I mean. I was so out of my center and they brought me back in. And that is the beautiful aspect or element of working in the Records, that when you're in your soul's vibration, you can't not heal. You can't not align to that energy. And what it does is it begins to replace all of that conditioning that's being held in your body, cellularly, emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, in your energy field everywhere. It's just a total being sort of alignment. And of course, when we do that repeatedly, we are able to make progress and embody our light, our divine energy. I continue to teach, continue to see clients, and to do healing work using the Akashic Records, and it is truly the greatest gift of my life.
