Here are 5 signs that you are an old soul.

Hello, lovely. Welcome to the blog. This is Dawn Marian, and today we are talking about 5 Signs That You Are an Old Soul. This is a question I get asked all the time in Akashic Records readings. Am I an old soul? Have I had other lifetimes? And usually it's motivated by a person feeling a little bit different from everyone else around them, or maybe feeling like they have some insight, some knowing about things that other people don't. They're looking for some sort of explanation, something to put this experience that they're having into context. 

Now, I want to preface this conversation by saying, technically we are all old souls. Your soul is infinite and you had hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands of life experiences. And if you're here on earth, you're listening to this, you are an old soul. But what we mean when we talk about an old soul is a soul who has been on an intense journey of growth and that has continued to accumulate wisdom, knowledge and gifts that result in being more advanced. Of course we're all on different soul journeys and some are just starting out in their learning and others have been doing it for a really long time. So what are the signs of being an old soul?

Sign #1 Old souls have advanced, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. Old souls are mature, right? And they can feel like why doesn't everyone get it?!? It can result in frustration sometimes because they have clarity and can see things from this lens of wisdom and experience. Now, it doesn't mean that old souls are perfect, but it means that they process and they reason and move through life in a much deeper, more mature way. 

Sign #2 Old souls have a deep knowing. It's almost like they've seen it all before. They have an understanding of humans, of life cycles and earth rhythms that younger souls sometimes don't have. We can often call it intuition, but it is actually a much deeper lived experience that culminates in understanding. A perfect example of this would be that an old soul could look at two people in a room and say “there's a connection”. They just know, they can see it happen before it's even going to happen because they've seen that play out many, many times and they're responding to the energy.

Sign #3 Old souls have very little interest in creating drama, hurting people, making other people jealous, or having power over others. Old souls are so over it. They've already learned that all of those power and control dynamics don't really get us anywhere. And so they've moved on. 

Sign #4 Old souls understand that there is a we. When you think about a young soul, like a toddler, they're very focused on anchoring their identity, right? A toddler is all about me and mine. And an old soul has already figured out that we are all part of the greater good, that we're all part of one. And so as a result, you'll find old souls are a lot more eager to listen to other people's opinions. They want to share resources, and they create win-win situations and strategies for people even when people are different from them. There's this deeper understanding that when all of us benefit and thrive, then the individual can be happy, which is something that young souls haven't always learned yet. And that's part of the young soul's experience, to grow into that understanding.

Sign #5 Old souls are perceived wise by other people around them. So this isn't so much about what you are doing as an old soul, but it's rather how you are being, how you show up. And you'll often find that when an old soul is in a room, a party, for example, people of all ages gravitate towards them. Old souls often have people reach out and say, “Hey, I just need to run some stuff by you” or “I feel like I'd like to process this. Can I do that?” because they're held in esteem for their wisdom, their ability to listen and  provide perspective to that person that may not have the clarity at the time.

So there you have it. Five signs that you're an old soul. Again I'm not encouraging a spirit of judgment or comparison when you use the lens of old soul, young soul, new soul, toddler, soul. But it definitely can help you understand yourself and energy and relationship dynamics a lot better. So what about you? Are you an old soul?
