What is Embodied Processing?

Embodied Processing is a gentle, body-based approach that works directly with the body to integrate unprocessed experiences. 

It helps you remember this truth on a physical level, in the body, where stress and undigested life experiences were stashed for safety by a younger you.

And let's have a moment for that resilient and resourceful child. They are a brilliant survivalist and an ally in your healing journey.

But here's the rub. The energy stays in the body until you're ready to process it.

And it can show up in all kinds of ways:

constant worrying
physical holding patterns
stress
triggers that take you from 0 to 100 in a second
digestive issues
shallow breathing
feeling constantly on edge
sleep disruption

and more.


Embodied Processing is a way to connect deeply with yourself, your inner child, and become present to your story.

When you learn how to listen to the language of your body and release tension that has been stored for years, even decades, you may begin to notice changes in your daily life:

THE CORE PROCESS

What a session looks like

 

We’ll begin with a short check-in and use mindfulness tools such as breathwork and a brief meditation so you can arrive fully present. Together, we create a space that feels grounded and safe.

You can bring a specific experience or trigger you want to explore, but it’s not necessary. You can also come with curiosity and openness to what your body is ready to show.

Then we get curious.

I’ll guide you to notice your breath, posture, and bodily sensations as they arise, at a pace that feels safe and natural to you.

We work with your body’s own knowing of how to heal and release stored tension and energy. This looks different for each person and even in each session.

We may work with the vagus nerve, complete stress responses such as fight, flight, freeze, or fawn, and process deeply held emotional patterns using Embodied Processing tools.

Because these techniques are simple and powerful, I’ll also share tools you can continue practicing at home

If you are currently in recovery for alcohol or substance use, this work is outside my scope of support and I’m not able to work with you at this time.

I had been experiencing emotional distress for a few weeks. I had let something sacred to me be stolen and I could not move on. If I would think about that incident I would break down in uncontrollable sobbing. I truly felt like I was a young child waiting for a horrible punishment.
